• Circulate: Run the pump for 2–4 hours to ensure the chemical is fully distributed throughout the pool.

• The Big Sleep: Turn the pump OFF for 12–24 hours. The water must be perfectly still for the bound debris to settle into a thick, visible layer on the pool floor.

• Vacuum to Waste: Once the debris has settled, use a manual pool vacuum set to "Vacuum to Waste." This sends the gunk directly out of the pool; do not run this through your filter, or you will clog it instantly.

3. Why doesn’t the debris sink to the bottom?

The most common cause of debris not sinking to the bottom of the pool is improper pH levels. Floc requires a range of 7.2 to 7.8 to activate, or it may fail to leave the pump off long enough. If the debris remains suspended, rebalance your water chemistry and try the settling process again.

4. Is floc safe for saltwater pools?
