Aladdin FAQs
Helpful answers for identifying Aladdin products, choosing compatible parts, and using or maintaining the equipment correctly.
What Aladdin products can I shop at Fresh Pool Supply?
Our Aladdin selection includes baskets, O-rings, gaskets, pump seals, filter cartridges, GO-KIT and RO-KIT repair sets, Magic Lube, skimmer parts, winterizing plugs, and service accessories. Availability is shown in the listings above.
How do I find the correct Aladdin replacement part?
Start with the equipment manufacturer, complete model number, original part number, and dimensions when applicable. Then use Aladdin’s catalog or cross-reference information to confirm the exact replacement number.
What is an Aladdin GO-KIT?
A GO-KIT groups the seals, O-rings, and gaskets commonly needed when servicing a specific pump application. Select the kit by the full pump model and production range because similar pumps may use different sealing components.
Are Aladdin baskets, O-rings, and gaskets universal?
No. Shape, diameter, cross section, material, lid design, and equipment revision can all affect fit. Confirm the Aladdin part number or an approved cross-reference before ordering.
Which Aladdin Magic Lube should I use?
Magic Lube products use different formulations for different applications. Follow Aladdin’s application guidance and the equipment manufacturer’s instructions, especially for moving parts, seals, valves, and materials that require a specific lubricant.
How do I choose an Aladdin filter cartridge?
Match the filter manufacturer and model, cartridge dimensions, end-cap style, center opening, and required filtration area. Do not rely on height or diameter alone when several cartridges look similar.
What should I check before replacing a pool pump seal?
Confirm the pump model and seal application, disconnect power, and inspect mating surfaces and related gaskets. Mechanical-seal faces are easily damaged, so installation should follow Aladdin and pump-manufacturer instructions.
How do I identify the correct skimmer basket or weir?
Record the skimmer manufacturer and model, then compare the basket or weir dimensions, shape, hinge style, and part number. Skimmers with similar openings can use different internal parts.
Can Aladdin parts replace discontinued pool components?
Aladdin offers replacements and adaptable products for many older applications, but compatibility must be verified individually. Use the cross-reference guide, measurements, and equipment documentation before assuming a substitute will fit.
Where can I find Aladdin installation and safety information?
Aladdin provides its catalog, cross-reference resources, installation guides, videos, safety sheets, and support information online. Follow the instructions for the exact part and pool-equipment application.
About Aladdin
Aladdin Equipment Company began in 1950 when H.E. “Buddy” Combest installed his own pool and founded Aladdin Swimming Pool Service and Supplies in Bell Gardens, California. The service business grew quickly, but difficulty obtaining reliable replacement parts led Combest to begin designing and manufacturing his own equipment.
In 1960, Combest sold the service operation and formed Aladdin Equipment Company as a dedicated manufacturer. Early innovations included the patented Dura Vac pool vacuum, portable filter units used at Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, and coated metal baskets created first for Aladdin’s own service technicians.
Aladdin’s purpose is rooted in helping pool owners and professionals keep equipment working through dependable replacement parts. Its values emphasize customer service, continuous improvement, forward thinking, sustainability, and community involvement, while the company remains family-owned and U.S.-based.
The modern product range includes pump and skimmer baskets, O-rings, gaskets, mechanical seals, filter cartridges, weirs, winterizing plugs, Magic Lube, Skimsaver products, tools, and hundreds of components for popular original-equipment brands. Aladdin relocated to Sarasota, Florida in 1989, where its operations remain today.
